The Log turner turns the logs 180 degrees to ensure the correct orientation of the log before entering the saw. It is usually used in smaller sawmills with slower machine cycle. The turner consists of massive frame and two driven cone rollers, which centre the logs. The frame with the cone rollers on which the log is placed is being lifted up by a hydraulic cylinder. The frame with the log turns 180 degrees by means of an electric motor. The turning can be done by transvers or by longitudinal transport of logs. The log turner can be integrated in cross chain conveyor 112 or in log intake conveyors 106 and 107.
