The Buffer log deck has the storage function for the already separated logs during the cross transport. It is usually placed after a butt-end reducer 123 or after a log infeed conveyor with one-side ejectors 109. The massive frame is welded from sectional steel and burnt steel. There can be two, three or four shafts with loading arms installed in the frame, which allow two, three or four logs being stored on the conveyor. The shafts are driven by the hydraulic cylinders. The overall width depends on the log length which can vary from 2,5 to 24,0 m. The buffer log deck is usually followed by a longitudinal infeed chain conveyor 106, 107.
